Study on Seniors Travel Experience and Life Satisfaction

Abstract

|
The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between seniors travel experience, including tourism constraints and satisfaction with destination attributes and travel frequency, and their life satisfaction. This study used cross-sectional data from the survey of Korea Tourism Organization in 2012 and included 612 senior travelers aged 55 and older. The findings from the secondary data analysis using a hierarchical regression revealed the negative association between tourism constraints related to seniors travel motivation and destination attractiveness and life satisfaction. The results also showed that seniors satisfaction with destination attributes and travel frequency had positive effects on their life satisfaction. Based on these findings, useful implications for tourism practitioners and policymakers are discussed.
